Day 39: Tradtional market in Chichicastenango, Guatemala

The traditional market in Chichicastenango is open every Thursday and Sunday.  Chichi is one hour from Lake Atitlan, and the market is considered the biggest traditional market in central America.

If you take local bus from Panahachel to Chichi, you will need to take a total of 3 different buses. So instead, most people will take a shuttle, around 10 USD. Shuttles leave Pana at 8AM (usually can pick you up at where you stay) and return from Chichi at 2PM.

In central america, catholic culture and Indian culture are kind of mixed up, there are alway flowers in the church and some people burn incense in front of the church.

Santa Thomas白色教堂:殖民帝國相信將教堂建立在馬雅祭壇上才能完全地征服當地族人,然而老人們仍搖晃著薰香,祭拜著他們所信仰的神

Kids and the old lady in traditional clothes trying to sell the small handcraft to my friend.
The first time I felt so pushing from the street little vendors and there are just a lot, who would follow you in the market and even sit by you when you settle into a restaurant.
